Premijer Liga round 17 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Ragusa (14-3) against second ranked Pozega (15-2) 89-84 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Ragusa. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Pozega forced 21 Ragusa turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Ragusa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. DR Congolese power forward La Mama Kapinga Maweja (194-1997, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. The former international center Emilija Podrug (190-1979) contributed with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. The former international forward Iva Todoric (174-1993) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and swingman Romana Stojanovic (186-1993) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Ragusa. Five Pozega and four Ragusa players scored in double figures. Ragusa's coach Cvetana Matic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pozega have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Ragusa dropped to the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Tresnjevka. They were replaced at the leadership position by Pozega. Ragusa will play next round against KAZL Split trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Pozega will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Medvescak in Zagreb.
