Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Al-Qazeres (9-14) rolled over 14th ranked Azkoitia (4-19) in Caceres 85-54 on Monday. Al-Qazeres dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Azkoitia's 20. They outrebounded Azkoitia 49-24 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Azerbaijani-American guard Alexy Mollenhauer (183-1998, college: Anderson) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and center Sara Zaragoza (195-1996, college: Portland) accounted for 11 points and 12 rebounds. Four Al-Qazeres players scored in double figures. Al-Qazeres' coach Jesus Sanchez felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Juana Molina-Prados (174-1991) came up with 11 points and forward Sara Iparragirre (173-1998) added 11 points respectively for Azkoitia in the defeat. Despite that victory Al-Qazeres went down to twelfth position due to points difference. Azkoitia lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 19 games lost. Al-Qazeres will meet at home higher ranked Real Canoe (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Azkoitia will play against Joventut in Badalona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
