Regular Season Round 27: SMS PZKosz - Pyra 67-49

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked SMS PZKosz (8-16) won against higher ranked Pyra (15-9) in Wladyslawowo 67-49 on Wednesday. SMS PZKosz held Pyra to an opponent 23.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.4 percent accuracy of the winners. SMS PZKosz looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Pyra's players. It was an exceptional evening for center Piotr Winkowski (208-2003) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Mateusz Samiec (184-2005) accounted for 9 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Point guard Kamil Pleskot (176-2001) came up with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Pawel Klimaszewski (193-2001) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Pyra in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SMS PZKosz maintains tenth place with 8-16 record, which they share with AZS UJK. Newly promoted Pyra dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Ostrow Mazow.. SMS PZKosz will meet at home Astoria (#10) in the next round. Pyra will play against AZS UMK (#9) in Torun and hope to secure a win.
