Regular Season Round 25: E.Netanya - M.Haifa 97-83

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked M.Haifa (12-12) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked E.Netanya (11-11) 97-83 on Wednesday. Guard Roy Paretsky (193-2002) stepped up and scored 23 points and 8 assists for the winners and American forward DeSean Parsons (201-1995, college: Portland St.) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). E.Netanya's coach Ruben Najberger used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Steve Taylor Jr. (206-1993, college: Toledo) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Ghanian guard Chris Smith (188-1987, college: Louisville) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. E.Netanya moved-up to eighth place, which they share with M.Raanana. Loser M.Haifa keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. E.Netanya will meet league's second-placed Hapoel H/M in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. M.Haifa will have a break next round.
