Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Lima-Horta (11-10) defeated 15th ranked Plasencia (4-20) in Barcelona 77-63 on Friday. Lima-Horta dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Plasencia's 26. They outrebounded Plasencia 41-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Guard Eliana Soriano (175-1989) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and center Paula Tutusaus (190-1990) accounted for 18 points and 10 rebounds. Five Lima-Horta players scored in double figures. Lima-Horta's coach Sergio Manzano used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian forward Ijeoma Uchendu (185-1992, college: Butler) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and Bulgarian point guard Karina Konstantinova (173-1999) added 22 points respectively for Plasencia in the defeat.
