Regular Season Round 23: Tarragona - Castelldefels 62-68

There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Castelldefels (12-4) beat on the road leader Tarragona (14-4) 68-62 on Saturday. Castelldefels made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for Marc Manes (196-1986) who led the winners and scored 19 points. Point guard Cristian Oliva (185-1982) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winning side. Center Ferran Torres (201-1988) came up with 12 points and 7 rebounds and guard Daniel Tugores (185-1995) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Tarragona in the defeat. Tarragona's coach Bernardo Alvarez rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Castelldefels. They maintain fourth place in Group C-1 with 12-4 record. Loser Tarragona still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Salou. Castelldefels will meet at home higher ranked Olivar (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tarragona will play against Roser and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the LEB Silver just one year after relegation.
