There was an upset when higher ranked Vigarano (10-10) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Battipaglia (9-11) 63-47 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Greek forward Marilena Gerostergiou (188-1998, college: Siena) who scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Raffaella Potolicchio (165-1990) chipped in 15 points. Swingman Lucrezia Coser (177-1998) produced 8 points and 11 rebounds and guard Veronica Perini (175-1988) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Battipaglia moved-up to seventh place in A2. Vigarano at the other side dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Battipaglia will meet at home Savona (#8) in the next round.
