There was an upset when higher ranked Ragusa (12-8) lost on the road to fourteenth ranked Cassino (7-15) 75-70 on Saturday. Cassino dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Ragusa's 24. Cassino had a 39-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Stefano Borsato (193-1986) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international Federico Lestini (203-1983) supported him with 19 points. Four Cassino players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by power forward Paolo Rotondo (204-1989, agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for Ragusa. Swingman Andrea Picarelli (196-1996, agency: SLN) added 19 points for lost side. Cassino moved-up to thirteenth place in B, which they share with Bologna Basket. Loser Ragusa dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Cassino will meet at home higher ranked Ruvo di Puglia (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
