Very important is a road loss of second ranked Kutaisi (9-2) against fifth ranked Batumi (6-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Kutaisi was crushed by Batumi in Batumi 98-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kutaisi. The game without a history. Batumi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Batumi outrebounded Kutaisi 44-26 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Kyle Riddley (192-1996, college: Pfeiffer) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 assists. Power forward Ioseb Gognadze (205-1996) chipped in a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Five Batumi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Akaki Dvalishvili (207-1991) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard Adrian Bowie (189-1989, college: Maryland, agency: BIG) added 16 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Batumi maintains fifth place with 6-6 record. Kutaisi at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Batumi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kutaisi will play against the league's leader TSU and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
