Very predictable result when sixth ranked Tenerife Naut. (12-11) won against 16th ranked Estudiantes B (6-14) in Madrid 73-67 on Saturday. Tenerife Naut. shot 20 for 29 from the free-throw line, while Estudiantes B only scored three points from the stripe. They outrebounded Estudiantes B 40-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for forward Alex Navas (199-2000) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Senegalese center Elhadji Dieng (211-1996, college: FIU, agency: Green Sports Management) accounted for 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Dieng is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Tenerife Naut. players scored in double figures. Point guard Alejandro Montero (185-2003) came up with 14 points and 4 assists and forward Michael Drame (195-1999) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for Estudiantes B in the defeat. Estudiantes B's coach Sergio Jimenez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Tenerife Naut.. They maintain sixth place in Group B with 12-11 record. Loser Estudiantes B keeps the sixteenth position with 14 games lost.
