Rather predictable result when second ranked Salou (14-4) won against 6th ranked Martinenc (8-10) in Barcelona 80-72 on Saturday. Salou forced 19 Martinenc turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Artur Alaminos (202-1991) who led the winners and scored 28 points. Naturalized Equatorial Guinean power forward Oscar Ngomo (201-1990) accounted for 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Salou's coach Jesus Muniz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Aboubakar Samake (188-1998) came up with 21 points and 7 rebounds and center Marc Magdaleno (203-1997) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Martinenc in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Salou. They keep a position of Group C-1 leader, which they share with Tarragona. Loser Martinenc keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Roser. Salou will meet at home SESE (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
