Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Alcobendas (13-10) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Guimar (8-10) 94-85 on Saturday. They outrebounded Guimar 43-25 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for forward Alberto de la Torre (201-1994) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Alejandro Fortes (204-1990) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Jonathan Jorge (183-2001) came up with 30 points and Senegalese forward Modou Mbaye (202-1994) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Guimar in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alcobendas maintains fifth place in Group B with 13-10 record. Guimar lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Alcobendas will meet at home Guadalajara (#8) in the next round. Guimar will play against Quintanar (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
