Regular Season Round 22: Ridzene - Dimantu ak. 88-66

One of the most interesting games of round 22 was a derby match between two teams from Latvia. The game took place in Riga where fourth ranked Ridzene outleveled visiting Dimantu ak. (0-19) 88-66. The game without a history. Ridzene led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Ridzene forced 33 Dimantu ak. turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 37 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Dimantu ak.'s players. Ridzene brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Latvian Liva Krumina (184-2003) scored 22 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and guard Endija Sedlina (171-2004) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Ridzene players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Lita Guslens (181-2005) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and guard Anita Stepena (178-2004) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Dimantu ak.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ridzene have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Dimantu ak. at the other side still closes the standings with 19 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
