Regular Season Round 27: KKS Basket - AZS UMK 90-64

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked KKS Basket (6-16) crushed higher ranked AZS UMK (9-14) in Poznan 90-64 on Saturday. KKS Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by AZS UMK's players. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Maciej Rostalski (198-1990) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Lukasz Kupczynski (190-1999) accounted for 22 points and 8 assists for the winning side. Four KKS Basket players scored in double figures. Guard Wojciech Bernasiak (190-1989) came up with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Sebastian Grzesinski (187-1986) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for AZS UMK in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted KKS Basket maintains thirteenth place with 6-16 record. Loser AZS UMK keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. KKS Basket will meet higher ranked Arka (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS UMK will play against Pyra and hope to secure a win.
