Very predictable result when first ranked Viladecans (18-3) defeated at home 11th ranked Sant Josep (6-12) 66-50 on Saturday. They outrebounded Sant Josep 41-30 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Marta Guerrero (-1992) who scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Silvia Marcelo (188-1993) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Viladecans' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Sabina Burguera (184-1988) who recorded 15 points and 6 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Lithuanian point guard Laurita Jurciute (178-1998) added 12 points respectively. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Viladecans. They maintain first place with 18-3 record. Sant Josep lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Viladecans will meet league's second-placed Segle XXI in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sant Josep will play against Marratxi (#14) and hope to secure a win.
