Regular Season Round 15: Dafni Agioy - Panathinaikos 67-89

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Panathinaikos (#1) and Dafni Agioy (#6). Dafni Agioy was crushed at home by 22 points 67-89 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Panathinaikos looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was swingman Sequoia Holmes (182-1986, college: UNLV) who scored 21 points and 5 assists. Forward Chastity Reed (185-1989, college: UALR) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. Panathinaikos' coach Eleni Kapogianni felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was center DaJah Daniel (193-1999, college: GCU) who recorded 23 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Chasity Patterson (165-1998, college: Kentucky) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Panathinaikos (12-1) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Dafni Agioy lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Panathinaikos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dafni Agioy will play on the road against PAOK (#5) in Thessaloniki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
