Regular Season Round 15: Moycullen - Maree 70-86

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Galway: Maree (#4) and Moycullen (#6). Moycullen was crushed at home by 16 points 70-86 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Strangely Moycullen outrebounded Maree 47-35 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Croatian forward Lovre Tvrdic (193-2000, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Jeryn Lucas (196, college: CWU) helped adding 18 points. The best for the losing side was American guard Grant Olsson (194-1995, college: Lincoln, MO, agency: IceBasket) with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds and forward Joshua Marvesley (190-1997) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maree (9-7) moved-up to third place. Moycullen lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 13 games lost. Maree will meet at home league's leader Ballincollig in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Moycullen will play against Killorglin (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
