No shocking result in a game when second ranked Valencia (19-4) beat at home 13th ranked Leganes (6-16) 81-65 on Sunday. Valencia looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for German center Marie Guelich (194-1994, college: Oregon St.) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. American center Celeste Trahan-Davis (186-1985, college: ECSU, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Valencia players scored in double figures. Valencia's coach Ruben Burgos used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-U.S. Virgin Islands swingman Imani Tate (175-1995, college: Albany) came up with 23 points and American center Vionise Pierre-Louis (193-1995, college: Oklahoma) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Leganes in the defeat. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Valencia. They maintain second place with 19-4 record having just one point less than leader Avenida. Leganes lost their third game in a row.
