There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Ruvo di Puglia (15-7) lost at home to fifth ranked Torrenova (14-7) 82-75 on Sunday. Swingman Donato Vitale (185-1998) notched 16 points and 8 assists to lead the effort and forward Dario Zucca (203-1996) supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Even 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by guard Leonardo Ciribeni (190-1992) did not help to save the game for Ruvo di Puglia. Naturalized Serbian Nikola Markovic (197-2000) added 15 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Torrenova moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Mestre. Loser Ruvo di Puglia keeps the third position with seven games lost. They share it with San Vendemiano. Torrenova will meet at home Monopoli AN (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Ruvo di Puglia will play against Cassino (#14) and hope to secure a win.
