Regular Season Round 22: Faenza - Rieti Real 84-85

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Rieti Real (15-7) edged on the road 12th ranked Faenza (8-12) 85-84 on Sunday. Strangely Faenza outrebounded Rieti Real 41-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Rieti Real looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Marco Contento (191-1991) notched 24 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and power forward Marco Maganza (205-1991) supported him with 18 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by naturalized Argentinian guard Sebastian Vico (190-1986) did not help to save the game for Faenza. Forward Lorenzo Molinaro (204-1992) added 21 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Rieti Real moved-up to third place in B, which they share with San Vendemiano. Loser Faenza keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Rieti Real will meet at home Montegranaro (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Faenza will play against Teramo (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
