Regular Season Round 22: TalTech - RSU 59-83

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Estonian TalTech (9-12) was outscored at home by sixth ranked Latvian RSU (11-10) 83-59 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by RSU. TalTech managed to win fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. RSU forced 23 TalTech turnovers and outrebounded them 47-25 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Swingman Anita Mikelsone (178-2001) notched a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Latvian center Guna Lagzdina (187-1993) supported her with 8 points and 9 rebounds. RSU's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by Annika Koster (182-1992) did not help to save the game for TalTech. Point guard Sofia Kosareva (170-1998) added 13 points for lost side. RSU have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 11-10 record. Newly promoted TalTech dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Tallina U.. RSU will meet at home Daugavpils Universitate (#10) in the next round. TalTech will have a break next round.
