There was no surprise when 11th ranked Latvian BJBS RJ (2-18) lost to eighth ranked Estonian Tallina U. (9-12) in Tallinn 53-61 on Sunday. BJBS RJ was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Tallina U. dominated on the defensive end, holding BJBS RJ to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Guard Merike Anderson (180-1981) notched 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and power forward Laina Mesila-Kaarmann (186-1987) supported her with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds by Latvian center Nikola Priede (186-2003) did not help to save the game for BJBS RJ. Carlote Petersone added 12 points for lost side. BJBS RJ's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tallina U. maintains eighth position with 9-12 record, which they share with TalTech. BJBS RJ lost fourteenth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
