Regular Season Round 20: Vigarano - Umbertide 66-56

There was a minor upset when 4th ranked Umbertide (13-7) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Vigarano (10-10) 66-56 on Wednesday. Vigarano forced 20 Umbertide turnovers. The best player for the winners was swingman Lucrezia Coser (177-1998) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Veronica Perini (175-1988) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Vigarano players scored in double figures. Center Beatrice Baldi (185-2000) produced 9 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Alessia Cabrini (179-1996) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Umbertide's coach Michele Staccini rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vigarano moved-up to fifth place in A2. Umbertide at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Vigarano will meet at home league's second-placed La Spezia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Umbertide will play against the league's leader Valdarno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
