Regular Season Round 22: RSU - Neptunas 73-68

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Latvian RSU (11-10) won against 3rd ranked Lithuanian Neptunas (15-5) in Riga 73-68 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Neptunas won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Mara Mote (178-2000, college: Arizona) notched 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Marta Leimane (178-2003) supported her with 19 points and 6 assists. RSU's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by American point guard Savannah Plentovich (172-1998, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Neptunas. Lithuanian Andra Gabalyte (179-1980, college: Liberty) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. RSU have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 11-10 record. Loser Neptunas keep the third place with five games lost. RSU will meet at home Daugavpils Universitate (#10) in the next round. Neptunas will have a break next round.
