Rather expected game when 9th ranked IR (7-12) lost to sixth ranked Tindastoll (11-8) in Reykjavik 71-75 on Thursday. IR was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Tindastoll made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for British-Irish forward Taiwo Badmus (201-1993, college: UVA Wise) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. The former international center Sigurdur Thorsteinsson (204-1988) accounted for 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Triston Simpson (188, college: S.Dakota) came up with 22 points and American-French forward Jordan Semple (201-1992, college: Chico St., agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for IR in the defeat. Four IR players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Tindastoll. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Valur and Stjarnan. IR lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Tindastoll will meet at home higher ranked Keflavik (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. IR will play against Grindavik (#7) and hope to secure a win.
