Regular Season Round 23: Caceres - Oviedo 75-99

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Caceres (12-12) was outscored at home by tenth ranked Oviedo (12-10) 99-75 on Friday. It was a great shooting night for Oviedo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Sean McDonnell (203-1995, college: Westmont) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Center Oliver Arteaga (208-1983) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American guard Devin Schmidt (193-1994, college: Delta St., agency: Duran International) came up with 18 points and 4 assists and Congolese forward Romaric Belemene (206-1997) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Caceres in the defeat. Five Oviedo and four Caceres players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oviedo moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Caceres lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Oviedo will meet at home Valladolid (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Caceres will play against Lleida and hope to secure a win.
