Regular Season Round 28: AZS UMK - Pyra 69-59

There was a surprise result in Torun where ninth ranked AZS UMK (11-14) defeated higher ranked Pyra (15-10) 69-59 on Friday. Power forward Szymon Janczak (206-2000) fired 28 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Krystian Mackiewicz (188-1999) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Przemyslaw Szymanski (198-1984) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Aleksander Adamczak (193-2000) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AZS UMK maintains ninth position with 11-14 record. Newly promoted Pyra keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Tarnovia. AZS UMK will meet higher ranked Gniezno (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Pyra will play against Arka and hope to secure a win.
