Very expected game when 18th ranked Huesca (2-21) lost on the road to fifth ranked Coruna (14-10) 83-65 on Friday. Coruna looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Huesca's players. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Nick Ward (203-1997, college: Michigan St.) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Norwegian forward Chris-Ebou Ndow (201-1993, college: NW Missouri St.) accounted for 19 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Coruna's coach Sergio Garcia Martin used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Ayoze Alonso (187-1991) came up with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Bosnian forward Njegos Sikiras (205-1999) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Huesca in the defeat. Coruna maintains fifth place with 14-10 record. Huesca lost their thirteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Coruna will meet higher ranked Palencia (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Huesca will play against Acunsa GBC (#8) and hope to secure a win.
