The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Kauhajoki (23-4) in Kouvola on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by second ranked Kouvot (18-9) 80-77. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Kauhajoki was trailing by 12 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 24-19 charge of Kouvot, which allowed them to win the game. Kauhajoki's coach Janne Koskimies rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kouvot maintains second place with 18-9 record having just five point less than leader Kauhajoki. Kauhajoki at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Kouvot are looking forward to face KTP Basket (#4) in Kotka in the next round. Kauhajoki will play at home against Vilpas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
