Regular Season Round 24: Mataro AE Parc - Almozara 70-64

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Mataro Parc (10-8) won against at home 9th ranked Almozara (7-11) 70-64 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Strangely Almozara outrebounded Mataro Parc 43-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized Mexican forward Mauricio Cheda (198-1990, college: UTEP) who scored 14 points. Enric Nogales (187-1994) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Francisco Cobos (195-1995) who recorded 10 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Roberto Perez (192-1993) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mataro Parc have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 10-8 record. Loser Almozara keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with SESE. Mataro Parc will meet league's leader L'Hospitalet on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Almozara will play against the league's second-placed Alfinden (#2) and hope to secure a win.
