Regular Season Round 24: Alfinden - Alpicat 109-105

There was no surprise in Zaragoza where 12th ranked Alpicat (2-15) was defeated by second ranked Alfinden (14-5) 109-105 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was power forward Chechu Malo (203-1996) who scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. Alejandro Peleato (197-1999) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Pol Domingo (198-1990) who recorded 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Alex Rubin De Celis (-2003, agency: Global Sports Basketball) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Alfinden have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-5 record having five points less than leader Corazon, which they share with Tarragona. Alpicat lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Alfinden will meet Almozara (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alpicat will play against Badalones and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
