Very expected game in Santiago de Compostela where 11th ranked Rosalia (6-16) was defeated by seventh ranked Melilla (11-9) 72-60 on Saturday. Melilla outrebounded Rosalia 37-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Guard Alana Goncalo (166-1994) scored 24 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Mali Aminata Traore (-2000) chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Melilla players scored in double figures. At the losing side Carla Garcia (-2000) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Angela Gonzalez (-1999) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Melilla moved-up to fifth place in Group A. Rosalia lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Melilla will meet at home Cortegada (#8) in the next round. Rosalia will play against the league's leader Almeria and hope to secure a win.
