We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Barcelona where 11th ranked Sant Cugat (4-15) was crushed by twelfth ranked Barbera (4-14) 83-59 on Saturday. Barbera outrebounded Sant Cugat 42-31 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was center Hernan Olaguibe (203-1986) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Bernat Alvarez (176-1995) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Barbera players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Josep Crespo who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and guard Ferran Lopez (190-1997) added 11 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Barbera moved-up to tenth place. Sant Cugat lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 15 games lost. They share it with UE Horta. Barbera will meet higher ranked Pinta Castell (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sant Cugat will play against Castelldefels and hope to secure a win.
