Regular Season Round 22: Sant Adria - Almeda 63-53

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Almeda (10-11) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Sant Adria (9-12) 63-53 on Sunday. Irene Broncano scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Judith Turrion (179-1996) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Mar Pacheco (-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and forward Marina Avinoa (180-2004) scored 16 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sant Adria moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with Mataro. Loser Almeda keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Sant Adria will meet higher ranked Casablanca (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Almeda will play against Sant Josep and hope to secure a win.
