Regular Season Round 21: Pyrinto Ak.B - PuHu Juniorit 93-76

Very important is a road loss of first ranked PuHu Juniorit (9-4) against seventh ranked Pyrinto Ak.B (5-8) on Sunday night. Visiting PuHu Juniorit was defeated by Pyrinto Ak.B in Tampere 93-76. The game without a history. Pyrinto Ak.B led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Pyrinto Ak.B outrebounded PuHu Juniorit 47-28 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Davon Clare (198, college: CS Fullerton) who had a triple-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Tuomas Heikkila (200-1999) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Valtteri Leino (183-1995) who recorded 19 points and 5 assists and forward Thomas Ronnholm (197-2003) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Four PuHu Juniorit players scored in double figures. PuHu Juniorit's coach Mikko Larkas rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Pyrinto Ak.B maintains seventh place in 1st Division with 5-8 record. Loser PuHu Juniorit still keeps top position with four games lost. Pyrinto Ak.B will meet at home higher ranked PeU-Basket (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PuHu Juniorit will play against LrNMKY (#4) and hope to secure a win.
