Very important is a road loss of third ranked Maccabi Tel-Aviv (11-7) against eleventh ranked Hapoel Beer Sheva (7-11) on Sunday night. Visiting Maccabi Tel-Aviv was edged by Hapoel Beer Sheva in a tough game in Beer Sheva 71-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maccabi Tel-Aviv. American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (203-1989, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Keenan Evans (191-1996, college: Texas Tech) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hapoel Beer Sheva moved-up to tenth place. Defending champion Maccabi Tel-Aviv keeps the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Bnei Hertzeliya. Hapoel Beer Sheva will play against league's second-placed Hapoel Holon on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Maccabi Tel-Aviv will play against Galil Elion and hopes to get back on the winning track.
