Regular Season Round 24: Tallina U. - Neptunas 67-85

There was no surprise in Tallinn where 8th ranked Estonian Tallina U. (9-14) was defeated by third ranked Lithuanian Neptunas (17-5) 85-67 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. Tallina U. managed to win fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Tallina U. 40-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Neptunas looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Savannah Plentovich (172-1998, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Dalia Donskichyte (169-2000) who added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Laina Mesila-Kaarmann (186-1987) with 27 points and 6 rebounds and Estonian point guard Birgit Piibur (162-1994) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Neptunas maintains third position with 17-5 record having six points less than leader RSU 2. Tallina U. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 14 games lost.
