Second Stage Round 6: Seagulls - Pyrinto 97-80

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Pyrinto's (14-14) road loss to fifth ranked Seagulls (16-12) 80-97 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Seagulls. Pyrinto managed to win fourth quarter 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Seagulls shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 51.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Pyrinto's players. International Shawn Huff (198-1984, college: Valpo) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Zaccheus Darko-Kelly (198-1997, college: Providence, MT) chipped in 12 points and 8 assists during the contest. Five Seagulls players scored in double figures. Seagulls' coach Jussi Laakso used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Osku Heinonen (194-1992) with 29 points and 6 rebounds (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and American forward Devante Foster (206-1998, college: Arkansas Tech, agency: One Motive Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Seagulls moved-up to fourth place, which they share with KTP Basket. Pyrinto lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 14 games lost. Seagulls will meet at home league's leader Kauhajoki in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pyrinto will play against KTP Basket (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
