There was an upset in Lugo where higher ranked Estudiantes (10-12) was defeated by twelfth ranked Ensino (9-15) 70-60 on Wednesday. Dutch guard Natalie Van Den Adel (185-1990, college: Colorado St.) stepped up and scored 14 points for the winners and Portuguese Sofia Gomes (188-1990, college: Tallahassee) chipped in 12 points. At the losing side American forward Nadia Fingall (191-1998, college: Stanford) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Arica Carter (173-1996, college: Louisville) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Ensino maintains twelfth place with 9-15 record. Loser Estudiantes dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Gernika. Ensino will meet higher ranked Zaragoza (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Estudiantes will play against Araski and hope to secure a win.
