No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked KTP Basket (17-12) beat 6th ranked Pyrinto (14-15) in Tampere 94-84 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. KTP Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Urald King (198-1990, college: SE Oklahoma) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Canadian guard Jahvon Blair (193-1998, college: Georgetown) accounted for 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. American guard Ike Smith (193-1997, college: Georgia South) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard David Gonzalvez (193-1987, college: Richmond) added 16 points and 7 assists respectively for Pyrinto in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KTP Basket maintains fourth place with 17-12 record. Pyrinto lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. KTP Basket will meet at home higher ranked Vilpas (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pyrinto will play against the league's leader Kauhajoki and hope to secure a win.
