Regular Season Round 23: Firenze - Piombino 82-52

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Firenze (10-13) outplayed at home 8th ranked Piombino (11-12) 82-52 on Saturday. Firenze forced 22 Piombino turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Davide Poltroneri (195-1985) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 8 assists. Forward Riccardo Castelli (200-1988, agency: Players Group) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Firenze's coach Iacopo Venucci felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Giacomo Eliantonio (206-1988) came up with 8 points and 8 rebounds and guard Mattia Venucci (185-1990, agency: SLN) added 10 points respectively for Piombino in the defeat. Firenze moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Piombino dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
