Regular Season Round 15: Tirana - Kamza 94-64

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tirana: Tirana (#3) and Kamza (#2). Tirana (9-4) crushed visiting Kamza (8-5) by 30 points 94-64. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Tirana dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kamza's 34. Tirana forced 21 Kamza turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Kamza's players. Tirana brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international Redi Vogli (196-1987) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 5 assists. The former international center Endrit Hysenagolli (208-1988) helped adding 15 points and 12 rebounds. Four Tirana players scored in double figures. Tirana's coach Erkand Karaj felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Matthew Eldridge (203-1996, college: Lindsey Wilson) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and international forward Niko Thano (196-1991) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Tirana have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Kamza dropped to the third position with five games lost. Tirana will play against league's leader Teuta in Durres in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kamza's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tirana to the arena Dinamo.
