Regular Season Round 24: TalTech - Tallina U. 73-57

One of the most interesting games of round 24 was a derby match between two teams from Estonia. Ninth ranked TalTech won against visiting Tallina U. (9-14) 73-57. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-57. TalTech dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Tallina U.'s 20. TalTech forced 24 Tallina U. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Annika Koster (182-1992) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and point guard Sofia Kosareva (170-1998) who added 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. TalTech's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was power forward Laina Mesila-Kaarmann (186-1987) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and guard Merike Anderson (180-1981) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Tallina U. players scored in double figures. TalTech (10-13) moved-up to eighth place. Tallina U. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost.
