Regular Season Round 23: Cordoba - De La Torre 70-64

Very expected game when 14th ranked De La Torre (3-20) lost on the road to seventh ranked Cordoba (11-10) 70-64 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was an exceptional evening for Hungarian power forward Zsofia Licskai (189-1993) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Senegalese forward Aya Traore (188-1983, college: Purdue) accounted for 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Irene Viruel (-2000) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Ester Sintes (-1992) added 17 points respectively for De La Torre in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cordoba moved-up to sixth place in Group A. De La Torre lost fifth consecutive game. De La Torre at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 20 games lost. Cordoba will meet higher ranked Melilla (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. De La Torre will play against the league's second-placed Adareva (#2) and hope to secure a win.
