Regular Season Round 23: ASVEL - Fos-Provence 84-80
Date: March 20, 2022
No shocking result in a game when third ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (16-8) won against at home bottom-ranked Provence Basket (6-17) 84-80 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was American guard Chris Jones (188-1993, college: Angelo St.) who scored 16 points and 5 assists. International forward William Howard (203-1993) chipped in 14 points. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket's coach Terence Parker used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Deishuan Booker (190-1996, college: LBSU) produced 23 points and American-Liberian Lasan Kromah (198-1991, college: UConn) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Provence Basket players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third place with 16-8 record behind leader Levallois. Provence Basket lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Provence Basket will play against the league's leader Metropolitans (#1) in Levallois and hope to secure a win.
