Very expected game when 14th ranked Paris (8-15) was defeated at home by second ranked Monaco (17-7) 76-69 on Sunday. Monaco outrebounded Paris 38-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American Dwayne Bacon (201-1995, college: FSU) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. American-Georgian forward Will Thomas (203-1986) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Monaco's coach Sasa Obradovic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Armenian-American point guard Ryan Boatright (183-1992, college: UConn) produced 15 points and 6 assists and center Ismael Kamagate (211-2001) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Paris players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Monaco. They used an opportunity after Levallois lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Newly promoted Paris keeps the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Orleans and Le Portel. Monaco will meet at home SIG Strasbourg (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Paris will play against JSF Nanterre (#8) and hope to secure a win.
