Very important is a road loss of second ranked Kutaisi (9-4) against eighth ranked Mega (6-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Kutaisi was defeated by Mega in a tough game in Tbilisi 87-95. The hosts were already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 31-24 last quarter charge of Kutaisi cut the lead to 95-87 at the end of the game. Mega made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American guard Djimon Henson (190-1998, college: Morehead St.) stepped up and scored 31 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and South Sudanese-Australian center Deng Acuoth (213-1996) chipped in 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks. International power forward Giorgi Korsantia (207-1998) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Adrian Bowie (189-1989, college: Maryland, agency: BIG) scored 14 points and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mega moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Cactus and Rustavi. Kutaisi lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with four games lost. Mega will play against higher ranked Batumi (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kutaisi will play against Cactus and hopes to get back on the winning track.
