Very expected game in Glyfada where 8th ranked Niki Lefkadas (4-10) was crushed by third ranked Esperides (10-5) 80-59 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Canadian power forward Emily Potter (196-1995, college: Utah) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds. American guard Roxy Barahman (173-1998, college: Yale) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists. Esperides' coach Stavros Nanakos felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Irish forward Fiona ODwyer (182-1991, college: Emmanuel, MA) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 18 rebounds and American center Shannon Coffee (196-1997, college: Stanford) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Esperides. They maintain third place with 10-5 record having just one point less than leader Olympiacos. Loser Niki Lefkadas keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Esperides will meet bottom-ranked Giannena (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Niki Lefkadas will play against the league's leader Olympiacos and hope to secure a win.
