Very predictable result when sixth ranked H.Afula (16-11) defeated at home 13th ranked M.Ashdod (7-19) 86-77. H.Afula players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American point guard Keron DeShields (190-1992, college: Tennessee St., agency: BIG) notched 27 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and the other American import center Michael Holyfield (211-1992, college: SHSU) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. H.Afula's coach Nir Kaplan allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 10 points and 12 assists by naturalized French point guard Arthur Rozenfeld (181-1995) did not help to save the game for M.Ashdod. Naturalized Belarusian swingman Roman Rubinshteyn (194-1996, agency: Alti Sport) added 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four M.Ashdod players scored in double figures. H.Afula have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 16-11 record. M.Ashdod at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with H.Izrael. H.Afula will play against higher ranked I.Ramat Gan (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. M.Ashdod will play against E.Netanya (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
