Regular Season Round 24: Le Portel - Gravelines 95-111

Rather expected game when 14th ranked Le Portel (8-16) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (11-13) 111-95. Gravelines-Dunkerque made 26-of-31 charity shots (83.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Gravelines-Dunkerque players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Le Portel was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American point guard Ray McCallum (190-1991, college: Detroit) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 7 assists. The other American import guard John Jenkins (193-1991, college: Vanderbilt) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American-Jamaican power forward Femi Olujobi (206-1996, college: DePaul, agency: Slash Sports) replied with 23 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and power forward Johan Passave-Ducteil (198-1985) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Le Portel. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gravelines-Dunkerque moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Cholet and Bourg. Le Portel at the other side dropped to the sixteenth position with 16 games lost. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Cholet Basket (#12) at home in the next round. Le Portel will play against JSF Nanterre (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
